(Oakland, CA) The life of a parent is never easy, usually chaotic, and far from relaxing. Finding a balance between being a caregiver, and being an adult is often difficult. Few locations cater to the synchronization of the parent-life and the adult-life, and most of the time you are left to choose clowns and cotton candy over coffee and a muffin to keep your hand-full happy. At least this was the compromise before tumble & tea café.

Empowered-The Single Mother-Only Child Household |
|
Posted by: admin |
By Janet Nelson
My son is the most precious experience of my life. He is a treasure…my treasure, but never really a possession…just my responsibility as he was entrusted to me when I became his Mother. Elliot is hope, joy and love. He is one of my best friends.
I could end this little essay right now, having said all that is really important. However, the experience from which these sweeping truths

Single Parenting: Effects of Single Parenting and Tips for Success |
|
Posted by: admin |
By Laura Ramirez
Removed by request of author. The grumpy old cow didn't like the way I formatted it. She threatened to "tell on me" from the site where I got the article from; funny thing was the site she mentioned isn't where I got the article from.
So Ms. Ramirez, you need to relax. I posted your article (with full permission from the site it WAS on) in the format that THEY wanted, complete with your URL to drive you traffic.
Obviously, there's a site that provides content that is using your article without your permission. Since you were such an ass to me, you can hunt them down yourself instead of me telling you.
Sorry I have a life. Sorry I was out of the country for a month when you sent your bitchy messages. AND - not leaving a return email makes it rough to contact you, you fool.
"you are sophisticated enough to monetize your site with Google Adsense, I know that you know that you are supposed to make the links in the bio live" that makes no sense at all. Had you calmed down and waited for an answer you would have discovered that, as I said above, the site I received the article from did NOT have that rule - they actually had a "dont' change the file we send you at all" rule, so I didn't. I don't know what having freaking Google Ads on my site has to do with ANYTHING. I'm in my 12th year running this site and that is perhaps the stupidest thing that I've ever read.
And your threat to contact my host - suck it up Princess. No host is going to pull a site because I had your URL listed but not a link. That's right, FULL CREDIT including website to you on the article. Didn't have the URL linked, that's a quick fix (for normal people who don't over react). Do you lead that sheltered of a life that you think the "web police" are going to shut sites down because we gave you full credit?
Idiot.
It's such a lovely, sharing and understanding world that we live in. Too bad you couldn't have added to it instead of being a such a cow. Don't worry, I'll never ever think of posting another one of your articles again. you're safe from the big meanie that CREDITED YOU for the article.
I feel the need to repeat: You're an idiot.
Note: First message received: I was surfing the web and found an article I wrote posted on your web site at: http://www.parentsworld.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=216&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0 This is an article that I provided to EzineArticles.com. The terms of the agreement—of your ability to use my content on your site—state that you are to make the links in my bio clickable. I am requesting that you make the links live or remove my article from your site. I have also contacted EzineArticles.com and informed them of this situation.Second message received: I am the author of "Single Parenting: Effects of Single Parenting and Tips for Success. I submitted a form two days ago asking you to make the links in my bio live, but you have not replied. This is a violation of the terms of acceptable use. I worked hard to write the article above and in exchange for using my content at no charge, you must make my links clickable. Since you are sophisticated enough to monetize your site with Google Adsense, I know that you know that you are supposed to make the links in the bio live, so I request that you do the right thing or remove my article from your site. I have contacted the people at Ezine Articles and they told me to give you 48 hours to make the changes. I have already given you that time, but you have not replied. Unless I hear from you right away, I am going to contact the company that hosts your web site. Since you have violated the terms of acceptable use, you are using my article without permission.

Five Christmas Survival Tips For The Divorced & Single Parent |
|
Posted by: admin |
By: Drew Harris
For the over 50% of marriages that end in divorce, Christmas can be a hugely trying time.
Since the season is one of the most stressful times of the year anyway, this onslaught of raw emotion to the divorcee can be overwhelming. This is reflected in the Christmas surge of suicide rates.
The feelings are that much more intense if there are kids involved.
I know for myself, nothing could have prepared for me for the crushing sadness I felt during my first post-divorce Christmas.

The cost of being a parent and raising a child in todays world is constantly increasing. The risk of your child becoming involved in problem behaviour is also greater. Parents must work together as a team to ensure the brightest future for their children. But what if there is no team. No other person to rely upon. This is what millions of single parents deal with everyday. But it is not only the parent who sees this as a gloomy situation. Children are quite often left thinking that they are the reason for a separation or divorce. It is the child who must attend father and son day at school without a dad. They have to grow up with all the stigma attached to coming from a "broken home". These are just a few of the many potential problems that a single parents household are faced with. Forget Resolutions. Craft a Life Theme that Works. |
|
Posted by: lmartin |
by Lisa Martin, Founder & President, Briefcase Moms®
How many people do you know who, in January, enthusiastically name their resolution for the year yet somehow neglect to follow through with it a few weeks or months later? Forget making New Year's resolutions. They rarely work because they are often based on "shoulds" versus the bigger picture of your life. What I've found does work is creating a life theme for the year ahead.
Your life theme will be your overriding intention or "big picture" focus for the upcoming months. It has an expiration date of December 31, when you'll get a chance to re-evaluate your direction. Having a life theme is like having a personal mission statement for your whole life, personal and professional, updated annually. A life theme works because it takes into consideration and connects all your intentions for the year in a succinct and powerful phrase. This collection of one to five words describes what you want to accomplish in all areas of your life and cements your main priorities with intended action.
